We’re excited to host another Pre‑K & Kindergarten Registration Night for the 2026–2027 school year! 🎉
📅 May 4, 2026 | 4:30–6:00 PM
Registering before the end of this school year is very important. If we have enough Pre‑K students register now, we can open an additional Pre‑K class for next year. Please help us spread the word and join us!

We are excited to celebrate our kindergarten students and all they have accomplished this year. Parents and families are invited to join us as we celebrate our kindergarten students. Please check the image for your child’s class schedule. Additional details will be sent closer to graduation.💙🎉

🌟 Pre-K Registration is happening now! 🌟
Give your little learner a strong start with a program focused on building social skills, emotional growth, and academic readiness.
We’re encouraging families to register early — higher registration numbers may allow us to open an additional Pre-K class for the upcoming school year.
We can’t wait to welcome our newest Bayou Blue Banties!

Give your little one the best start with a year full of learning, play, and growth.
Registration is now open—don’t miss your chance to set them up for success! 💛📚✨

WEATHER UPDATE: In consultation with area emergency management officials, all Lafourche Parish public schools and offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, and all school-related activities are canceled. Decisions regarding Tuesday will be made Monday, and we will provide an update to our families regarding the safe reopening of schools once we are able to assess our campuses for any weather-related impacts. We will also continue working cooperatively with local authorities to ensure conditions are safe for students and staff to return. We will communicate updates on school operations through employee email, SchoolStatus, social media and our website, mylpsd.com. We encourage everyone to stay safe and warm and take precautionary measures.

As of now, we do not anticipate any changes to school-related activities scheduled for the weekend. A decision regarding Monday will be made no later than 5 p.m. Saturday. Once a decision is made, we will inform our families through employee email, website updates, Facebook and OnCourse Connect, and direct notifications will be sent through SchoolStatus texts, emails, and phone calls. Please continue to monitor these outlets for official updates. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these potential weather challenges together.

If your child will be 5 by September 30th, it’s time to register for the 2026-2027 school year! You can register in the front office.

A portion of Bayou Blue Elementary has been evacuated due to a gas smell. Out of an abundance of caution, some students have been relocated to the cafeteria. The gas has been shut off, and the gas company and the fire department have been dispatched to assess the situation. All students and staff are safe, and we will keep you updated on the situation as more information is available. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
