Last night, we had the incredible opportunity to celebrate the heart and soul of our district at the Lafourche Education Foundation's annual Celebration of Excellence. 🍎✨

It was an honor to recognize the incredible dedication and hard work of our district's Teachers of the Year, who were selected to represent their schools during the 2024-25 academic year. These educators go above and beyond every single day, shaping the minds and futures of our students, and we are so grateful for their talent, passion and commitment.

A huge round of applause also goes to this year's LEF Outstanding Graduate, former LPSD Superintendent Dr. Joann Matthews. A graduate of Thibodaux High School, Dr. Matthews was honored for her four decades of service to public education in Lafourche Parish.

Thank you to LEF for their partnership and everyone who made this special night possible, and a massive congratulations again to all of our honorees! The future of Lafourche Parish is brighter because of you.
